CloudStor Collections packages are designed to be secure, persistent datasets that don’t change over time. This means that once a Collection is packaged, it cannot be altered.
If you need to make changes to an existing package, create a new Collection and output a new package. Each package and its embedded xml contain a unique identifier to match them if the data and metadata are separated.
- Click on
Collections in the top navigation menu.
- Click the dropdown at the top of the Collections window and select the Collection you want to package.
- Click
Package.
- If you want to save your packaged Collection to a folder on your CloudStor drive rather than your home CloudStor directory, click Change and navigate to the folder.
- Click Package.
If you have not added the minimum metadata required, Collections will display a warning with the metadata that needs to be added to your Collection. Add the metadata entries and retry the packaging.
Once your file is packaged, Collections will save the .zip package in your chosen CloudStor folder and send you a confirmation email.
You can now download and share the Collection zip file to a data repository or another researcher.
Package history
If you have previously packaged a Collection, you can view the package history.
- Click

- Collections will display the dates and times that the Collection was packaged.
