What is the difference between Basic, Licensed and On-Prem user types?

There are 3 types of Zoom users:
  • Basic: A basic user is a free account user who can host up to 40 minutes meetings when there are more than 2 people in the meeting (offnet).
  • Licensed: A licensed user is one linked to a paid account. Licensed users can host an unlimited number of meetings (one at a time) on the Zoom Global Public cloud (offnet). Meetings may involve hosting servers in several countries.
  • On-Prem: An On-Prem user is one linked to a paid account, but who's meetings are all hosted on the AARNet Zoom Cloud (onnet). Zoom host the account profile and meeting schedules, whilst the AARNet infrastructure hosts all the meetings or webinars, and provides Cloudstor as the cloud recording repository.
