What is AWS Direct Connect?

Amazon Web Services Direct Connect enables a direct network connection into Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) within AWS.                        aws.amazon.com/directconnect/

In many cases, this can reduce a customer's network costs, increase bandwidth throughput, and provide a more consistent network experience than Internet-based connections.

AARNet is an AWS Direct Connect Partner:  aws.amazon.com/partners/directconnect/

 Network connectivity to AWS is established at:

  1. Equinix SY3, Sydney
  2. Global Switch SY6, Sydney

If required, AARNet can also reach all other AWS locations in Australia: 

NEXTDC M1, Melbourne;    NEXTDC C1, Canberra;    NEXTDC P1, Perth.
