- Go to https://app.globus.org/ in your web browser.
- Click File Manager in the side menu bar.
- Click Search next to Collection.
File Manager will show a list of collections that you have access to. - If you can’t easily see the collection you want to connect to, type part of the collection name in the search field to filter the list.
- Click the name of the collection to connect.
If you want to see the details of the collection, click the icon next to the collection.
Once you’ve connected to a collection, you can transfer files in it to a collection on your local machine, or to a remote collection.
Transfer files between two collections
You can transfer files between collections on:
- Your personal endpoint and a server endpoint.
- Your personal endpoint and someone else’s personal endpoint, if you have a Globus subscription.
- Two server endpoints.
To transfer files:
Note: it doesn’t matter which collection is on which side of the transfer. Files can be transferred both ways.
- Click Transfer or Sync to… in the side command panel.
- Connect to the second collection by clicking Search next to Collection and selecting the collection name.
Once selected, you will see the two chosen collections side by side.
- Browse to the directories you want to use.
Click in the browser pane under each collection to switch the focus to that collection. - Select the files to transfer by ticking the check box next to each file or folder or by holding SHIFT or CTRL while selecting each file or folder.
- Click the Start button below the collection’s path to begin transferring files from that collection to the other.
For example, if you click the Start button underneath the first collection’s path, Globus will transfer files from the first collection to the second. If you click the Start button underneath the second collection’s path, Globus will transfer files from the second collection to the first.
